GETTING RID OF CHAPPED LIPS
For anyone braving the dreary winter months back east, you know more than anyone that chapped lips can be hard to kick. Between dry air, harsh cold, and inclement weather they can end up being a constant winter accessory.
How can you rid yourself of chapped lips and invigorate and refresh your look?
Follow these steps:
1. Take a warm wash cloth and brush your lips in circle motions. This removes dead skin and gives you a clean palette with which to work.
2. Next grab a moisturizing base, try something like vitamin E or cocoa butter. These products sink into your skin and moisturize deeply. You can buy these at any drug store for a relatively cheap cost and they are much more effective than other moisturizers that have multiple chemicals. The simpler the better.
3. Put Chapstick over top. Choose a Chapstick with a hint of color if you are trying to brighten up your look. This will the seal the moisturizer in and create a nice base.
4. Optional. If you are about to face the harsh outdoors, or if you want to add a sheen to your look, top off your lips with some vaseline. This will coat your lips and keep even the harshest of wind at bay. This acts as a protector for your entire lip, but should be used last because the moisture from vaseline does not penetrate deeply
