Beautifying DIY Facial Masks
Facial masks are a brilliant means of providing nourishment and revamping the skin. Even as umpteen numbers of them throng the market one could easily whip up masks utilizing ingredients from your kitchen.
Innate constituents such as avocados, cucumbers, honey & cocoa are bliss for the skin. Varied forms of facial masks serve varied uses – they help to cleanse, smoothen or refresh the skin. The type of mask to be used is based on the skin form one has.
Dry Skins
In case one has dry skin then one could opt for masks made from:
Yellow of an egg blended along with olive oil plus warm honey.
Blending one-fourth part of an entire carrot along with yellow part of an egg.
Half part of an avocado pounded plus one yellow of egg.
Oily Skins
For those with oily skin try these fabulous options.
Dissolving one teaspoonful of baker’s yeast in miniscule quantity tepid water, waiting till foaminess develops and then applying it over the face. A facial mask ideally used when one soaks in bath tubs.
Pureed pulp of one tomato mixed alongside a little potato starch flour till paste-like consistency.
Beating up white portion of 2 eggs alongside fresh extract of one lemon. It is a great black head removal pack.
Cucumbers would also help in whitening the skin and its sliced form placed on the eyes help in allaying puffy appearance & darkish circles around the eyes.
Blemished Greasy Skin
Starting off with a quarter part each of fruits like pears, apples plus a quarter of cucumber are all to be blended or mashed forming a sauce-similar consistency. Now adding six grams flour, four grams of pearl powder and mixing properly to form an effective facial mask.
Another fabulous mask for moisturizing and softening all skin types is a blend of three teaspoonfuls each of rolled oats plus honey.
For providential people having normal skin type or anyone could try this self-indulgent choco-facial mask that superlatively moisturizes the skin leaving it baby-soft. All that is needed is mixing together one-third cupful powdered cocoa, three tablespoons of heavy ‘whipping’ cream (has around forty percent butter fat), two teaspoons of pot cheese, one-fourth cup honey and three teaspoons rolled oats. After thoroughly blending the above constituents the mask is to be smoothened on the facial area, relaxing for 10 minutes and then washing off with tepid water.
Another delightfully handy mask that works for all skin types is a blend of an egg (white part for those having greasy skin and yellow portion to be used for those with skin dryness) alongside a few drops of olive oil. Mixing well and applying using pads of your fingers with gentle massaging movements in as many fine layers as one could do. Optionally the pack could be slathered evenly over the facial area, waiting till it dries up and rinsing off properly with chilled water.
Granny’s Favourite Facial Mint Mask
The secret potent constituent in this facial mask is mint which helps to soothe & cool the face and a great cleanser removing even the most stubborn of blackheads proffering soft, clear and invigorated skin.
Start off by peeling duo cucumbers, pulsing these into a fine blend and straining the cucumbers after pureeing them via paper towels for removing any extra water.
Mixing together cucumbers, plain curd (two tablespoons), lemon extract (one tablespoon), mint (one-fourth cup fine diced) and blending it all till totally merged.
Refrigerating this mask in a container till one is all set to apply it on the face. Prior to using it on the face, either microwaving it for a minute’s time or heating it over a stove till mild warm. Now applying it on washed face & preferably working best post tepid showering and leaving the mask on for fifteen minutes. Rinsing with tepid water to reveal revitalized skin.
As a rule of thumb, one should avoid application of any mask over two times per week and endeavour to change its constituents. Ideally a patch test should be done of the mask on the backside of the ear, waiting for twenty minutes and then washing off. Subsequent to a day’s time, check the backside of the ear for any reddishness or reaction. In case the skin looks fine then one could safely try that mask on the face.
